Participant Requirements and Suggestions

A high-speed broadband internet connection is REQUIRED to attend this webinar.
Please test your system download speed at http://www.bandwidthplace.com/
The minimum acceptable download speed is 2 Mbps.

We recommend headphones or good speakers in a quiet environment, and all of it needs to be in good working order. If you can not see and hear a video at YouTube, then your computer may not work for this webinar.
You do not need a web cam or microphone. Run the system check on Friday, so you have time to resolve any issues before the start of the webinar.


Other Considerations and Help ...

  • A Join LInk will be sent to participants on the Friday before the webinar.
  • Joining the session requires the email address you used to register, PLUS the password. Spelling counts.
  • Be sure that you have up-to-date system software for your computer and web browser.
  • Be sure you have the newest free version of Adobe Flash Player installed.
  • If there are other users on your local network who are gaming, listening to music, watching movies, or downloading huge files, ask them to stop until the webinar is over. Those other people are competing with you for the fast internet speeds needed to enjoy the webiner.
  • Avoid wireless routers if possible, a wired ethernet connection is more reliable and faster.
  • This is live streaming internet video, not network television, or even Hulu. Be patient.
  • We have focused on the best sound quality possible, so at times the image can pixelate.

A webinar is an online learning environment where the leader can present a variety of media to those attending. Unlike a meeting, a webinar usually allows only one speaker, but those attending may interact by typing questions in the Q&A area, raising their hand, taking polls, or providing other feedback.

Suggestions for a better experience…

  • Join the webinar session 15 to 20 minutes early, so that you have plenty of time. 
  • The use of headphones is recommended. Be sure your sound is turned up (not on mute)
  • In a conference room environment where a “speakerphone” is wanted, you might consider the Phoenix Duet system www.phnxaudio.com.
  • You will receive a password for the presentation via email. It is case sensitive and confidential.
